I’ve actually heard that argument being used... “Oh, the Swedes do it, and they’re a very modern progressive society... don’t you want to be reasonable and rational and modern like them or would you rather stick to old, stupid, outdated ideas? Come on, get with the program, do like the Swedes do.”
